My rants and raves about being a dedicated scholar and technophile in the community college setting.

Podcasting

As I have desperately tried to get everything done before the end of the semester (grades are due tomorrow), I’ve also been bombarded with announcements for “opportunities” next academic year. Eek! Can you all let me finish this academic year first?

Anyhow, it looks like I might apply to join a learning community on our campus about using Podcasting. Yesterday I briefly chatted with the individual heading up that learning community. I said I would be more interested in researching and experimenting how podcasting is being used in a more professional development manner (like this blog) as opposed to direct applications for teaching and learning in the classroom. She liked that focus and said I could focus my work in the learning community in that direction. Cool! So if I get accepted, I’ll start playing with podcasting. I’m assuming I can work them into this blog? What I think could be really fun is taking podcasts from others, and inserting my own spoken dialogue into the original cast to make something new…something interactive. We’ll see…and of course it will be tracked here…among all the other new things I decide to tinker with.
